Email should be the easy part of building a product.
Mailumi is built and run in Oss, the Netherlands. We started it as the email tool we kept wishing we had for our own products.

How Mailumi started
From one frustrating afternoon to an email platform.
Mailumi is made by Scadex, which also builds software for the trading card world, including Scadex Market, where collectors buy and sell cards with buyer and seller protection.
Every one of those products needs email: sign-up confirmations, password resets, order updates, price alerts and the occasional newsletter. Mailumi grew out of that problem, solved one time too many.

The afternoon that took a week
Sending a password reset should take an afternoon. Instead it meant copying DNS records between browser tabs, waiting for DKIM to verify and wondering why the first emails landed in spam.
- The pattern
Three tools for one job
Transactional email lived with one provider and newsletters with another, each with its own bill, its own contact list and its own idea of where customer data should live. Often that was outside Europe.

So we built it: one API for sending and receiving, campaigns in the same plan, DNS records added for you, and your data kept in the European Union.

Mailumi, running in production
Mailumi sends and receives email through Amazon SES in Ireland, works from any language over HTTPS or SMTP, and is checked every 5 minutes on a public status page. We still answer every support email ourselves.
