Give your application its own address.
Turn on receiving for a domain in the dashboard and add the MX record Mailumi shows. If your main domain already uses Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, use a subdomain such as inbox.yourbrand.com so your team’s mailboxes keep working.
Add a webhook and choose which mail it receives: every address on every receiving domain, one domain, or a single address such as support@. Your application uses the recipient to link the message to a ticket, order or conversation.
Get the message, ready to use.
Each email.received event contains the sender, recipients, subject, text and HTML body. Attachments are stored privately and downloaded with an API key that has the email:read permission, so files are never exposed through public links.
Received messages also appear in Email activity next to the emails you send, so you can see exactly what arrived and when.
Signed, retried and easy to verify.
Every webhook is signed in the Standard Webhooks format: HMAC-SHA256 over the event ID, timestamp and raw body. Verify the webhook-signature header, reject old timestamps and store event IDs so the same message is never processed twice.
If your endpoint is down or returns an error, Mailumi retries automatically with increasing delays. Every attempt, HTTP status and error is visible in the dashboard, and you can retry a delivery with one click.

Inbound email API: common questions
- Can I receive email without changing my current inbox?
- Yes. Use a subdomain such as inbox.yourbrand.com for receiving. Only that subdomain’s MX record points to Mailumi, so Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 or any other mailbox on your main domain keeps working.
- Does receiving count toward my plan?
- No. Your monthly allowance counts the emails you send. Received emails are not deducted from it.
- What can I build with inbound email?
- Reply-by-email for comments and tickets, support inboxes inside your app, invoice and receipt processing, lead capture from forwarded emails, and any workflow that starts with someone sending an email.
- Is this a mailbox with IMAP?
- No. Mailumi delivers incoming email to your application as webhooks, which is what you need to automate. For personal mail, keep using your regular email provider.
